Jury Duty = Schmury Duty

It's October, you receive a letter saying you have been summoned to Jury Duty and need to report on December 5th. At 4:00 the day before you call in to make sure the trial hasn't been settled and see if you still have to show up at 8:30 the next day. After finding out you are to report you show up at the courthouse at 8:00 not wanting to be late. You and 30 other people who have also been summoned are brought into a room and given directions by Judge Judy (a nicer version, but that was really her name). You then are taken into another room to patiently await your questioning and choosing processes made with the lawyers of the plaintiff and the defendant. After 3 hours they bring you back into the first room to tell you all the cases have been settled, you can pick up your check and are dismissed to go home. You get your whopping $11 check, take it to another building to be cashed and head to the parking garage to find that it cost $11 to park. Sweet! Jury Duty is fun and everyone should try it sometime!

Ha, hilarious. I am sorry you had to fork over your "winnings" to pay for parking. Bummer.

I think they know it costs $11 to park don't you? They are so rude! It makes for a funny story though :) And I am so sorry about your car, that dent looks awful!
