My sister-in-law shared this story with my family and I thought it was definitely blog worthy, thanks Jen!
"we have a large picture of the Savior in our bedroom, and last night Daxton and I were reading his scriptures together, and I was explaining to him that Jesus died for all of us to save us from our sins - a pretty heavy concept for a kid to grasp - and I wondered if he was getting what I was saying at all. Anyway, one of the rules I make with the toy guns is that we never point them at people, only at walls and pictures, etc. So, this morning I heard Dax and Ben in the bedroom playing with Ben's new NERF gun, and I heard Ben say, "Dax, don't shoot the picture of Jesus." Dax said, "Why not Dad, he has to die for us?" It's logical....right? Funny boy."

So funny! You always wonder if kids are really getting what you're saying!
When you stop and think about things from a kid's perspective instead of your own, you realize they are typically pretty logical in their own way. My favorite Daxton quote, however, is, "Jane. Do you need some 'basoline' for your lips."
Thanks for sharing that precious moment with Daxton--we love your blogs and we love you both!!!!
We're not Nana and Grandpa Kent--we're Papa and Maga--anyway we share their love for you!!!
Children are soooooooooooooooo cute!! Love the story!
So funny. I love it!
That is hilarious! Thanks Daxton for the laugh :)
That is such a cute story! Could that kiddo be any cuter?! I can't remember the last time I saw him in person, but it looks like he just keeps getting cuter and cuter!
PS - Do I still get an award for making comments? I've been on blogging hiatus for a while so I've been slacking. I didn't want you to feel abandoned. But, I'm back on the bandwagon!
